Trump Media files for cryptocurrency ETF with SEC
Trump Media and Technology Group Corp. (NASDAQ: DJT) filed a registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission for the Truth Social Crypto Blue Chip ETF, according to a company statement.
The ETF will hold five cryptocurrencies directly: Bitcoin (70% of assets), Ether (15%), Solana (8%), Cronos (5%), and Ripple (2%). The fund aims to reflect the price performance of these digital assets.
Crypto.com will serve as the ETF's digital asset custodian and prime execution agent, as well as provide staking and liquidity services. Yorkville America Digital is acting as the sponsor.
The ETF launch requires effectiveness of the registration statement and approval of a Form 19b-4 filing with the SEC. Upon launch, shares will be listed on NYSE Arca.
Trump Media operates Truth Social, a social media platform, Truth+, a streaming service, and is developing Truth.Fi, a financial services brand. The company trades on both NASDAQ and NYSE Texas under the ticker DJT.
The registration statement has been filed but has not yet become effective, meaning shares cannot be sold until SEC approval is obtained.
