ZenaTech, Inc. (Nasdaq: ZENA) announced that its ZenaDrone subsidiary has begun building a mobile agricultural drone operations trailer, with testing expected to begin in the coming months.

The trailer is being built at the company's facility in Mesa, Arizona, and is designed to transport and support field drone operations, including automated battery recharging, payload replenishment, and autonomous takeoff and landing. It features a retractable top cover and panels to allow drones to launch directly from the trailer.

The trailer is initially configured to work with ZenaDrone's IQ Octo drone, an eight-motor autonomous prototype built for precision agriculture spraying and seeding. The IQ Octo is designed for approximately 20 to 25 minutes of flight per charge and can carry a payload of up to 25 kilograms. The trailer is built to support swarms of up to five drones and is intended to be adapted for surveying and inspection applications in the future.

"Our customers want more acres covered, jobs completed faster, and lower service costs," said Shaun Passley, Ph.D., ZenaTech CEO. "We are starting development and testing in precision agriculture, with the goal of extending this approach across our Drone as a Service applications."

According to the company's press release, the trailer is designed to reduce downtime and manual intervention by automating refilling and battery charging between flights, with the stated goal of increasing daily job capacity and reducing operating costs.

ZenaTech said it will provide further updates as development and testing milestones are reached.
