XCharge opens assembly facility in Valencia, Spain
XCharge North America announced that its parent company XCHG Limited (NASDAQ: XCH) has opened its first European assembly plant in Valencia, Spain. The facility spans nearly 3,000 square meters and will serve as a primary assembly and testing center for XCharge's charging hardware.
The Valencia plant is designed to diversify XCharge's global supply chain and support research and development of grid-independent charging technology. The facility will directly benefit the company's North American operations, according to the press release.
XCharge manufactures high-power EV charging solutions, including the C7 charger that delivers up to 400 kW of power at a maximum of 600A. The company's GridLink technology provides nearly 200 kW of power output with only 44 kW of grid input.
The company has partnerships in the United States, including with Cellerate Power for EV chargers in Vermont and plans for one of the largest battery-backed DC fast-charging depots in the U.S. later this year.
"The new Silla plant represents a major step forward in XCharge's expansion in Spain and reinforces our commitment to a more efficient and sustainable European supply chain," said Aatish Patel, President and Co-founder of XCharge North America.
Government representatives from Spain's national, regional and local levels attended the facility's opening ceremony. XCharge was founded in 2015 and offers DC fast chargers and battery-integrated DC fast chargers along with accompanying services.
