Voyager Technologies Inc. (NYSE: VOYG) acquired proprietary technology from BridgeComm Technologies to accelerate development of optical communication solutions for defense and commercial markets, according to a company statement.
The acquisition allows Voyager to compress development timelines for optical communications systems used in low-Earth orbit satellite networks and space-based communications infrastructure. The technology supports applications requiring secure, high-throughput connectivity with low latency.
"By compressing development into a much shorter timeframe, we're able to respond to one of the fastest-growing needs in defense and commercial communications," said Dylan Taylor, Chairman and CEO of Voyager.
The optical communication technology addresses Department of Defense mission requirements while supporting commercial applications, including connecting aircraft to satellite constellations for enhanced data throughput across global networks.
Voyager stated the acquisition builds on its existing capabilities in sensors, AI-enabled edge processing, and orbital infrastructure. The Denver-based company develops defense and space technology solutions.
The company did not disclose financial terms of the acquisition. Voyager noted the technology will enable development of differentiated communication systems on accelerated schedules to meet growing connectivity requirements in both defense and commercial sectors.
