Tempus AI launches OneOme pharmacogenomics testing nationally

Tempus AI, Inc. (NASDAQ: TEM) has launched its OneOme pharmacogenomics testing solution nationally, following its acquisition of OneOme in November 2025, according to a company statement.

The launch introduces the RightMed Comprehensive test, a 27-gene germline pharmacogenomics laboratory-developed test designed to analyze a patient's inherited genetic traits. Standalone single-gene DPYD and UGT1A1 tests are also available. The tests evaluate how a patient's genetic profile may influence drug response, toxicity risk, or optimal dosage. Results are delivered in under five days on average from sample receipt.

The FDA updated safety labeling for capecitabine and fluorouracil in February 2026, recommending DPYD testing prior to administering fluoropyrimidine therapies. A published study cited by the company estimates that nearly 30% of patients receiving those treatments experience severe or sometimes fatal toxicities.

Tom Schoenherr, CEO of Diagnostics at Tempus, said the platform gives clinicians "a more holistic view of the patient" by offering both rapid single-gene and broad multi-gene panels.

The testing is integrated into Tempus's existing platform, allowing clinicians to evaluate drug-gene interactions alongside tissue and liquid biopsy sequencing at the point of care.
