SunPower Corp. (NASDAQ: SPWR) completed its acquisition of Sunder Energy, a residential solar sales company, according to a company statement. The transaction creates what SunPower claims is the fifth-largest U.S. residential solar company by installed megawatts, based on Ohm Analytics data.

The acquisition adds Sunder's 893 independent sales representatives to SunPower's existing 841-person sales force. Twenty Sunder permanent employees transferred to SunPower as part of the deal.

SunPower CEO T.J. Rodgers said the acquisition "will immediately raise our revenue to its pre-ITC levels and then on to a new record." The company projects the transaction will generate an operating income profit record in the fourth quarter of 2025.

Sunder operates through independent contractors managed by a small permanent staff. The company's sales model focuses on residential solar installations across multiple states.

SunPower plans to adopt Sunder's sales software and methods across both organizations. The integration involves a 10-person leadership team overseeing progress on 10 integration tracks managed by 18 senior managers from both companies.

The acquisition expands SunPower's geographic presence from 22 to 45 states. Rodgers indicated the integration process is expected to take approximately one quarter to complete, with 310 integration deliverables planned.

SunPower previously acquired assets and emerged from bankruptcy proceedings. The company operates as a residential solar services provider in North America through its digital platform and installation services.
