State Street Corporation (NYSE: STT) acquired PriceStats, a provider of daily inflation statistics derived from online pricing data for millions of consumer products worldwide, according to a company statement.

Founded in 2011, PriceStats collects price data from more than 1,500 retailers globally using proprietary methodology to track inflation trends and purchasing power. The platform has served as a component of State Street's research platform since 2011 and is used by institutional investors, economists, and central banks.

PriceStats will join State Street Data Intelligence, which provides proprietary data and analytics to clients. The division also includes State Street Private Capital Indices, which covers more than $6 trillion in private equity and credit data.

"Accurate and actionable measurement of economic activity increasingly requires the collection and analysis of large unstructured data sets," said Will Kinlaw, head of State Street Data Intelligence. "The recent period of rapidly changing inflation has demonstrated the need for near-real-time data, which requires a tech-driven, digital solution."

PriceStats co-founder Alberto Cavallo, a professor at Harvard Business School, will remain as an academic partner through State Street Associates to develop additional products focused on real economy measurement.

"Joining State Street is an important milestone for PriceStats and highlights the value of the partnership we have built with State Street over the years," said Pilar Iglesias, co-founder of PriceStats.

State Street operates globally in more than 100 geographic markets with $51.7 trillion in assets under custody and administration and $5.4 trillion in assets under management as of September 30, 2025.
