Novocure (NASDAQ: NVCR) announced that its subsidiary Novocure GmbH has decided to terminate the LUNAR-4 clinical trial, according to a company statement.
The company notified trial sites of the termination on August 28, 2025. LUNAR-4 was a phase 2, single arm, open-label, multinational study examining Tumor Treating Fields used alongside pembrolizumab for treating metastatic non-small cell lung cancer in patients previously treated with a PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitor and platinum-based chemotherapy.
The company stated that the availability of real-world evidence will allow it to achieve the objectives of LUNAR-4 without conducting an interventional clinical study. Novocure emphasized that the decision was not related to any safety concerns.
