Matson promotes three executives in operations restructuring

Matson Inc. (NYSE: MATX) announced three executive promotions effective immediately, according to a company press release.

Vic Angoco has been promoted from senior vice president of Alaska to executive vice president of operations. In his new role based at Matson's corporate office in Walnut Creek, California, Angoco will oversee network operations including West Coast terminals, vessel operations and engineering, equipment operations and engineering, and corporate facilities.

Jennifer Tungul was promoted from vice president of Alaska operations to senior vice president of Alaska, taking over Angoco's previous responsibilities. She will oversee all of Matson's business activities in Alaska.

Rob Olson was promoted from general manager of Alaska terminal operations to vice president of Alaska operations, succeeding Tungul. He will have primary management responsibility for Matson's terminal operations in Anchorage, Kodiak and Dutch Harbor.

Angoco joined Matson in 1996 and has held various operations and sales management positions across San Francisco, Guam and Hawaii. He was promoted to senior vice president of Matson's Pacific Division in 2010 and has led the Alaska team since 2022.

Tungul joined Matson's Alaska operations in 2002 and has served in finance and operations leadership roles, including terminal manager in Dutch Harbor. She was promoted to general manager for Dutch Harbor in 2019 and became vice president of Alaska operations in 2022.

Olson joined Matson in 2022 as general manager of the Anchorage terminal and later took on additional safety, quality, environment and security responsibilities for Alaska terminals. Prior to Matson, he worked as transportation and maintenance manager for a retail grocery chain and served eight years in the U.S. Marine Corps.
