Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) has completed its acquisition of Ultra Maritime, a defense company focused on undersea warfare and anti-submarine warfare capabilities for naval forces.
Ultra Maritime develops systems including sonar technologies, sonobuoys, torpedo defense systems, radar solutions, electronic warfare platforms, and autonomous maritime sensing systems. The acquired business will be integrated into Lockheed Martin's Rotary and Mission Systems business area.
According to the announcement, Ultra Maritime's portfolio of anti-submarine warfare products — including sonobuoys, towed sonar arrays, and hull-mounted sonar systems — is intended to expand Lockheed Martin's sonar offerings across next-generation maritime platforms.
Stephanie C. Hill, president of Rotary and Mission Systems at Lockheed Martin, said: "Securing the undersea domain starts with giving sailors the tools and confidence to find, track and deter threats that put ships and crews at risk."
