Flotek Industries secures first utilities infrastructure contract

March 3, 2026 6:55 AM EST

Flotek Industries Inc. (NYSE: FTK) announced it received its first contract within the utilities infrastructure sector to provide power services for disaster recovery efforts. The Houston-based company will coordinate installation of up to 50 megawatts of power generation equipment through its PWRtek platform.

The contract supports federal disaster recovery initiatives in an area affected by a destructive wind event that damaged local power infrastructure. Flotek will partner with distributed power service providers to deploy advanced gas distribution and smart conditioning systems.

The initial six-month term is expected to begin during the second quarter of 2026, with an option for the customer to extend for an additional four years at the same monthly rate. Revenue will depend on final power requirements and deployment timing. If the full 50 MW capacity were deployed for the entire six-month period, Flotek expects contract revenue of approximately $1 million per megawatt.

Equipment deployment will ramp over several weeks following the contract start date. The company stated it will provide updates on power requirements, timing and financial impact after completing technical, environmental and operational assessments.

Under the contract, Flotek will supply smart conditioning skids that detect and neutralize liquid slugs or high-BTU contaminants, along with gas distribution equipment that provides independent fuel control to each generator set.

"This contract is a major milestone showcasing Flotek's expertise in delivering large-scale, high-reliability utilities infrastructure support under tough conditions," said CEO Ryan Ezell.

The power solution will serve a newly constructed residential location and support local critical infrastructure. Flotek's PWRtek platform integrates data analytics with power generation for real-time monitoring and system optimization.
