Sapiens International Corporation (NASDAQ: SPNS) announced that Encova Insurance has implemented its new Automated Testing Services for workers' compensation operations, marking the first deployment of this service offering.
Encova Insurance, a multi-line mutual insurer serving the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic regions, deployed the automated testing services for its existing CoreSuite for Workers' Compensation solution. The implementation began in April 2025, with the first automated tests planned to support Encova's next upgrade in October.
The service addresses time-intensive regression testing demands for system upgrades that were affecting Encova's ability to execute frequent new releases. The automated testing services provide access to Sapiens' pre-built regression test suite, which is updated with each product release and includes customized test cases for Encova's operational environment.
"Sapiens' ATS will reduce our testing effort, improve the quality of our releases, and free us up for business-critical and strategic priorities," said Ramu Lingala, Encova Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer.
The service utilizes Microsoft Playwright, an open-source testing tool, integrated with a framework developed by Sapiens. Encova will receive training to develop automated test cases for customized code.
Encova Insurance operates in 27 states and Washington, D.C., with premiums exceeding $1.3 billion, surplus above $2.2 billion, and assets over $5.4 billion. The company is rated A by AM Best and markets through more than 2,000 independent agencies.
Sapiens announced in August 2025 that it entered into an agreement to be acquired by Advent for $43.50 per share in cash, valuing the company at approximately $2.5 billion.
