Aura Minerals Inc. (NASDAQ: AUGO) has entered into a $200 million syndicated loan facility, with the company acting as borrower at the holding company level, according to a press release.
Citigroup Global Markets Inc. and Itaú BBA Assessoria Financeira S.A. served as joint lead arrangers and bookrunners for the loan.
The facility carries an interest rate of SOFR plus 2.70% per year, includes a two-year grace period, and has a maturity of five years. Aura Minerals said it intends to use the proceeds to finance payments to suppliers or to prepay costs associated with producing and selling its goods.
CEO and President Rodrigo Barbosa said the loan reflects the company's "operational momentum, robust cash generation and disciplined growth strategy," and that it "further diversifies our funding sources."
Aura Minerals operates gold and base metal mining assets across the Americas, including mines in Honduras, Brazil, and Mexico. The company also has projects under various stages of development in Guatemala, Colombia, and Brazil.
