Beyond Code Collective Launches New Series Code Along Beyond: Music

Expanding access to coding, app development, and AI skills because the future belongs to all of us.

OAKLAND, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Today, Beyond Code Collective announced the launch of Code Along Beyond: Music, created with support from Apple.

As emerging technologies transform how we work, learn, and create, access to technology education has become increasingly tied to economic opportunity. Beyond Code Collective is helping close that gap by creating pathways into the innovation economy for learners who have traditionally been underrepresented in technology. Through a growing ecosystem of programs, Beyond Code supports students, educators, career changers, and communities in developing the skills needed to participate in the AI economy.

One of those pathways is Code Along, Beyond Code Collective's free, video-based coding academy that helps learners build real-world technology skills through hands-on coding experiences. Beginning September 12, Code Along Beyond: Music will premiere weekly on YouTube, where learners will build a custom playlist app using Swift, Xcode, and Apple Intelligence while exploring app design, creativity, and problem-solving. The season is hosted by creators Destiney Williams and Daniel Ray, with appearances by content creator Jalaiah Harmon and STEM leader Dr. Fernanda Sulantay Vargas, who help bring each lesson to life.

Code Along currently reaches 182,000 subscribers globally across its platforms. Since its launch three years ago, Code Along has garnered over 11.5 million views, and surpassed 189,000 hours of watch time, reflecting growing demand for technology education that is engaging, accessible, and rooted in culture. In 2025, Kalani Jules, host of Code Along Jr., received the Young Artist Award for Best Performance in a Streaming Series. This new season builds on the continued evolution of Code Along, expanding opportunities for learners to explore coding, artificial intelligence, creativity, and app development through engaging, hands-on experiences.
