Tyson Foods appoints Microsoft's Xbox president to board

Tyson Foods Inc. (NYSE: TSN) appointed Sarah Bond, President of Xbox at Microsoft Corp., as an independent director to its board, effective immediately, according to a company statement.
Bond leads Xbox's operations across hardware, software and services within Microsoft's gaming business. She joined Microsoft in 2017 as Corporate Vice President after holding leadership positions at T-Mobile and McKinsey & Company. Bond holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Yale University and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School.
The appointment increases Tyson Foods' board to 16 directors, with 10 independent directors. Bond serves on the board of the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts and is Vice Chair of the Entertainment Software Association board.
"Sarah is dynamic and passionate, with proven management strength, and her energy and personality are a wonderful fit for our culture," said Chairman John H. Tyson in the statement. "We are confident that her unique expertise will help us continue to grow and serve our customers, our team members, and our shareholders."
Bond stated she was "delighted to join the board and support the company as it continues to execute its long-term growth strategy with customers and consumers."
Tyson Foods, founded in 1935, operates as a protein producer with brands including Tyson, Jimmy Dean, Hillshire Farm and Ball Park. The Springdale, Arkansas-based company had approximately 138,000 employees as of September 2024.
