Praxis appoints two board directors and promotes two executives

Praxis Precision Medicines Inc. (NASDAQ: PRAX) announced the appointment of Jeffrey B. Kindler and Stuart Arbuckle to its board of directors, along with the promotion of two internal executives to expanded roles.

The clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company, which develops therapies for central nervous system disorders, promoted Megan Sniecinski from Chief Business Officer to Chief Operating Officer and Steven Petrou from Chief Scientific Officer to President of Research & Development.

Kindler previously served as chairman and chief executive officer of Pfizer, where he led research and development transformations and oversaw acquisitions. He currently serves as a director and advisor to multiple healthcare and life sciences companies.

Arbuckle brings 13 years of experience from Vertex Pharmaceuticals, where he most recently served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, overseeing global commercial operations and playing a role in the company's growth. He previously held commercial leadership roles at Amgen and GSK and currently serves on the boards of Rhythm Pharmaceuticals and Alnylam Pharmaceuticals.

In her new role as COO, Sniecinski will oversee enterprise execution, program strategy and operations, and corporate development. She previously played a role in the execution of the company's ulixacaltamide Phase 3 program.

Petrou, a co-founder of Praxis, will continue to oversee the research and development functions in his expanded role. The company stated his promotion reflects its evolution into a late-stage organization with multiple programs advancing toward registration and commercialization.

The appointments come as Praxis positions itself for what it describes as a phase focused on commercial launch planning and late-stage development. The company has four clinical-stage product candidates in its portfolio across movement disorders and epilepsy.
