Optimum Communications, Inc. (NYSE: OPTU) expanded its board of directors from nine to eleven members on October 28, 2026, appointing Elizabeth Abrams and Daniel Silvers as independent directors.

The board determined that both Abrams and Silvers qualify as independent directors under New York Stock Exchange listing standards and U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission rules. Each will serve until the company's next annual stockholder meeting.

The board also established a special committee consisting of Abrams and Silvers, delegating authority to evaluate potential strategic and financial transactions, including financing, restructuring, reorganization, and recapitalization transactions. The committee is also authorized to review matters involving potential conflicts of interest between the company and related parties, including current or former directors, officers, equity holders, or management companies.

The company disclosed that Silvers' brother is a partner at Ropes & Gray LLP, a law firm hired by Optimum Communications in the ordinary course of business. The company paid Ropes & Gray approximately $11 million for legal services since January 1, 2025. The company stated there are no family relationships between either appointee and any director or executive officer of the company.
