Nxera Pharma nominates Takeo Morooka as external director
Nxera Pharma Co., Ltd. (TSE: 4565) announced board changes including the nomination of Takeo Morooka as external director and the retirement of two current external directors, according to a company statement.
The Tokyo-based biopharmaceutical company's board approved the nomination of Morooka, who currently serves on the company's Strategic Advisory Council. Miwa Seki and Noriaki Nagai will retire from their external director positions.
The appointments require shareholder approval at the company's 36th Ordinary General Meeting scheduled for March 25, 2026.

He has held senior government relations positions at global healthcare companies and currently leads several medical technology ventures.
"We expect that, with his deep expertise in regulatory affairs and pharmaceutical policy, he will provide practical and constructive guidance in advancing our medium- to long-term growth strategy," said Chris Cargill, president and CEO of Nxera Pharma.
Following the changes, the board will consist of seven directors including Cargill as representative executive officer and six external directors: David Roblin, Rolf Soderstrom, Eiko Tomita, Naoko Shimura, Nicola Rabson, and Morooka.
Nxera Pharma operates a commercial business in Japan and maintains research facilities across Tokyo, Osaka, London, Cambridge, Basel and Seoul.
