Nouveau Monde Graphite adds Eni-nominated director to its board
Nouveau Monde Graphite Inc. (NYSE: NMG, TSX: NOU, FSE: NM9A) has appointed Lapo Pistelli to its board of directors, effective immediately, according to a company press release.
The appointment follows a board nomination right held by Italian energy company Eni S.p.A., which became a strategic shareholder in NMG through a financing package for the Matawinie Mine announced earlier this year.
Pistelli currently serves as Director Energy Transition Minerals Solutions at Eni, a role he was appointed to on Oct. 12, 2026. He previously held the position of Director of Public Affairs at Eni from July 2020 to October 2026. Before joining Eni in 2015, he served as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy from 2013 to 2015, was a member of the Italian Parliament from 1996 to 2015, and served in the European Parliament from 2004 to 2008.
"His experience navigating complex geopolitical environments and fostering strategic partnerships across global markets will be a valuable addition to our Board," said Daniel Buron, chair of NMG's board of directors.
NMG said construction is underway at the Matawinie Mine in Quebec, Canada, and that work is advancing toward a targeted final investment decision for its 13,000-tonne-per-year Bécancour Battery Material Plant.
