Liz Truss joins Roundtable board to lead European Press Coalition

Former United Kingdom Prime Minister Liz Truss has joined the board of directors of Roundtable (NASDAQ: RTB), a media technology company, where she will focus on forming a European Press Coalition using the company's media operating system.

Roundtable CEO James Heckman announced the appointment, citing Truss's record of public service across roles including Prime Minister, Foreign Secretary, International Trade Secretary, and Chief Secretary to the Treasury during her 14 years in British public office.

"Liz embodies Britain's tradition of sophisticated engagement across political, media and civic constituencies through decades of thoughtful leadership, open debate and commitment to a free press," Heckman said.

Truss commented on the challenges facing professional media: "Professional media faces unprecedented technological and economic challenges, particularly from AI and global technology platforms. I'm honored to join Roundtable's distinguished technology leaders and senior media executives, offering the highest level of technology — purpose-built for human-led, professional media."

According to the company's press release, Roundtable claims an audience of more than 100 million and a $100 million marketplace shared among dozens of media brands and hundreds of journalists. The company describes its platform as an AI and decentralized finance-powered media operating system covering distribution, publishing, monetization, and syndication.
