Lightwave Logic adds telecom veteran to board of directors

Lightwave Logic, Inc. (NASDAQ: LWLG) announced the appointment of Edward H. Kennedy to its board of directors, effective September 23, 2026, expanding the board to seven members.

Kennedy brings more than 30 years of experience in telecom, networking, and enterprise infrastructure. He currently serves as principal of Kenko Partners. His prior executive roles include chief executive officer of CENX, Inc., which was acquired by Ericsson in 2018, and chief executive officer of Tollgrade Communications, where he led the company through a take-private transaction with Golden Gate Capital.

Earlier in his career, Kennedy served as chief executive officer of Rivulet Communications, president of Tellabs North American Operations, co-founder and senior executive of Ocular Networks, and in executive roles at Alcatel and Newbridge Networks.

Kennedy also has public-company board experience, having served on the board of Extreme Networks since 2011. Previous board roles include Visual Networks, Hatteras Networks, Imagine Communications, and Avizia.

Ronald Bucci, chairman of Lightwave Logic, said Kennedy's telecom and networking background and track record with public companies would support the company as it advances its commercial strategy.
