Kingfisher Metals appoints Jasper Bertisen to board of directors
Kingfisher Metals Corp. (TSXV: KFR) (FSE: 9700) (OTCQX: KGFMF) announced the appointment of Jasper Bertisen as an independent, non-executive director, effective immediately, according to a press release.
Bertisen has more than 20 years of experience in mining private equity, project evaluation, corporate finance, and governance. He spent the majority of his career at Resource Capital Funds, which he joined in 2004, focusing on investments in mining companies advancing projects through engineering, permitting, financing, construction, and commissioning. He remains a member of RCF's Investment Committee.
Bertisen currently serves as a director of Collective Mining Ltd. (NYSE: CNL) (TSX: CNL), ERDA Resource Opportunities Inc. (TSXV: ERDA), and Endolith, Inc. He also serves on advisory boards of several mining technology companies and is an adjunct professor at the Colorado School of Mines. He holds an M.Sc. in Mineral Economics from the Colorado School of Mines and an M.Sc. in Mining Engineering from Delft University of Technology.
Concurrent with Bertisen's appointment, Chris Beltgens stepped down as a director of the company to focus on other business opportunities.
In connection with the appointment, Kingfisher granted Bertisen 350,000 stock options under the company's stock option plan. The options are exercisable for five years at C$1.16 per share and will vest over 24 months.
Kingfisher Metals is a Canadian exploration company focused on copper-gold exploration in British Columbia's Golden Triangle. The company currently has 157,329,335 shares outstanding.
