Former Mossad chief joins Quantum X Labs advisory board

Quantum X Labs Inc. (Nasdaq: QXL) announced the appointment of Yossi Cohen, former Director of Israel's Mossad intelligence agency, as President of the company's Scientific Advisory Board, according to a press release issued Sept. 15, 2026.

Cohen served as Director of the Mossad from 2016 to 2021, preceded by roles as Israel's National Security Advisor from 2013 to 2016 and Deputy Director of the Mossad. He also currently serves as a strategic advisor to SoftBank, a role he assumed in August 2026, focusing on artificial intelligence infrastructure, cloud data centers, and semiconductor investments.

Cohen will join existing board members, including Prof. Oren Kurland of the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology and Prof. Oren Raz of the Weizmann Institute of Science. His role will focus on quantum computing, quantum error correction, quantum cybersecurity, and quantum sensing, with a commercial emphasis on defense, aerospace, homeland security, and critical infrastructure markets.

Prior to his SoftBank advisory role, Cohen led SoftBank's activities in Israel through Vision Fund 2, where he was involved in cybersecurity investments including those related to Wiz, Claroty, and Cato Networks.

Quantum X Labs Co-Chief Executive Officer Yaki Baranes said: "We did not appoint Yossi Cohen to be an honorary name on our letterhead. We appointed him because Quantum X Labs is developing a range of unique capabilities — including quantum sensing for navigation and timing, a quantum error-correction decoder, and quantum cybersecurity — that will be tested in the real world, not only in the laboratory."

Cohen stated: "After evaluating several companies across deep-tech and quantum technology landscape, I chose to join Quantum X Labs because I found a rare combination of exceptional human capital and significant technological potential."

Quantum X Labs and its subsidiaries operate across quantum technology, digital advertising, computing, and enterprise artificial intelligence. Its portfolio includes a neutral-atom quantum computing platform, an AI-driven quantum error-correction architecture, quantum gyroscope chip technology, and next-generation atomic clocks.
