DoorDash Inc. (NASDAQ: DASH) appointed Milan Kovac to its board of directors, effective January 16, 2026, according to a company statement.
Kovac previously served as vice president of Optimus Robotics and Autopilot at Tesla Inc., where he led the company's humanoid robot program and worked on autonomous driving engineering initiatives. He joined Tesla in 2016 and was promoted to vice president in 2024.
"Milan has spent his career building and scaling ambitious engineering programs at the intersection of AI, autonomy, and robotics," said Tony Xu, DoorDash co-founder and CEO. "He brings a rare combination of technical depth and operational leadership."
The appointment occurs as DoorDash continues investing in platform innovation across local commerce and logistics. The company operates DoorDash Labs, which works on delivery technologies that could complement its existing driver network.
DoorDash operates in more than 40 countries and owns international brands including Deliveroo and Wolt. The San Francisco-based company was founded in 2013 and went public in 2020.
"DoorDash has built an extraordinary platform that connects the digital and physical worlds of local commerce at global scale," Kovac said in the statement.
