Defence Therapeutics names ex-Xenon CFO Sherry Aulin to its board

Defence Therapeutics Inc. (CSE: DTC) (OTCQB: DTCFF) (FSE: DTC) has appointed Sherry Aulin to its board of directors, the Montreal-based biotechnology company announced. Aulin will also serve on the company's audit committee.

Aulin has more than 20 years of experience in public-company finance and capital markets. She most recently served as chief financial officer of Xenon Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ: XENE), a neuroscience-focused biopharmaceutical company, for over a decade. During her tenure at Xenon, she contributed to the company's Nasdaq IPO and led financing activities that raised more than $1 billion in equity capital.

Earlier in her career, Aulin held senior roles at KPMG LLP, advising publicly traded companies across several industries, including life sciences. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of British Columbia and is a Chartered Professional Accountant. She currently serves on the board of Life Sciences British Columbia.

"I look forward to bringing my expertise in the capital markets and public-company leadership to the board and supporting management in strategically advancing its programs," Aulin said in a statement.

In connection with her appointment, Defence Therapeutics granted Aulin 400,000 incentive stock options exercisable at $0.40 per share for a period of five years. Of those options, 200,000 vested immediately and the remaining 200,000 will vest on the first anniversary of the grant date.
