Jeff Robertson, president of Allerium, a subsidiary of Comtech Telecommunications Corp. (NASDAQ: CMTL), has been appointed to the board of the First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet Authority) by U.S. Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick.
The FirstNet Authority is an independent federal authority responsible for overseeing the development of FirstNet, the nationwide public safety broadband network for America's first responders.
Robertson leads Allerium's emergency communications business, which supports Next Generation 9-1-1 deployments, call handling, emergency communications networks, and related public safety solutions. He will continue in his role as Allerium president while serving on the board.
"I am deeply honored by this appointment and grateful for the opportunity to serve our country in such a meaningful way," Robertson said. "Public safety has been the focus of my career, and I look forward to working alongside my fellow board members in support of FirstNet's mission."
Ken Traub, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Comtech, commented on the appointment, citing Robertson's experience in emergency communications and public safety as qualifications for the board role.
