Codexis adds David Butler to its strategic advisory board

Codexis, Inc. (Nasdaq: CDXS) has appointed David Butler, PhD, to its Strategic Advisory Board, the company announced. Concurrently, Carole Cobb is stepping down from the board.



Butler brings more than 20 years of experience in the oligonucleotide field. He most recently served as Chief Technology Officer at Hongene Biotech Corporation from 2023 to 2026. Before that, he held chemistry leadership roles at Wave Life Sciences, Korro Bio, and Alltrna. Earlier in his career at Alnylam, he contributed to the development of liquid nanoparticle delivery technologies. He holds a BSc and PhD in Chemistry from St. Andrews University.



Alison Moore, PhD, President and Chief Executive Officer of Codexis, cited Butler's experience in the siRNA therapeutic sector and his expertise in the manufacture and scale-up of oligonucleotides as relevant to the company's work. "His deep experience and knowledge of the siRNA therapeutic sector and expertise in the manufacture and scale up of these types of oligonucleotides will bring a fresh and invaluable perspective as we expand our position and influence in the industry," Moore said.



Butler said he looks forward to working with the leadership team as the company advances production processes for siRNA medicines.



Moore also acknowledged Cobb's tenure on the board, noting her contributions to bioprocessing methods.



Codexis, based in Redwood City, Calif., develops enzymatic solutions for pharmaceutical and nucleic acid manufacturing using its CodeEvolver technology platform.
