Cal-Maine Foods board member Jim Poole passes away

Cal-Maine Foods, Inc. (NASDAQ: CALM) announced the death of board member Jim Poole, who served on the company's Board of Directors since 2004.
Poole served on the Audit Committee, chaired the Compensation Committee, and was a member of the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee during his tenure with the egg company.
"Jim was not only an exceptional director, but a person of remarkable character and principle," said Dolph Baker, Board Chair of Cal-Maine Foods. "Throughout his more than two decades of service, Jim brought intellectual rigor, independent judgment, and a deep sense of responsibility to every Board discussion."
The company said Poole provided audit and financial experience, risk management expertise, and business development knowledge to the board. Cal-Maine Foods described him as having made contributions to the company's governance and oversight.
The Nominating and Governance Committee has begun searching for a replacement director whose experience aligns with the company's strategic priorities, according to the press release.
Cal-Maine Foods is headquartered in Ridgeland, Mississippi, and describes itself as the largest egg company in the United States. The company produces conventional and specialty eggs, including cage-free, organic, and free-range varieties, serving retail and foodservice customers.
