ArcBest Corp. (NASDAQ: ARCB) announced the appointment of Chris Sultemeier to its board of directors, effective October 29, 2025, according to a company statement.
Sultemeier brings more than 30 years of experience in logistics and transportation operations. He spent 28 years at Walmart Inc., serving as executive vice president of logistics and as president and CEO of Walmart Transportation. He currently works as an operating partner at NewRoad Capital Partners and serves on boards of several portfolio companies.
The appointment coincides with the retirement of Dr. Craig E. Philip, who has served on the ArcBest board since 2011. Philip will step down after the January 2026 board meeting, concluding 14 years of service.
Sultemeier will serve on the compensation and nominating/corporate governance committees. Eduardo Conrado, a board member since 2016, has been appointed lead independent director, assuming the role following Steve Spinner's previously announced retirement.
"His impressive experience leading supply chain and logistics at Walmart, as well as his experience on multiple boards, brings valuable operational insight and industry perspective to our board," said Judy R. McReynolds, ArcBest chairman and CEO.
The company indicated these changes are part of an ongoing assessment of board composition and that additional updates are expected in the coming months as the review process continues.
ArcBest operates as an integrated logistics company with 14,000 employees across 250 locations, providing transportation and supply chain management services.
