Apollo Global Management (NYSE: APO) has appointed Meyer "Micky" Malka, founder and managing partner of Ribbit Capital, to its board of directors, effective January 1, 2027, according to a company statement.

The appointment expands Apollo's board to 14 directors. The company said it will continue to maintain a two-thirds independent board following the change.

Malka has more than 30 years of experience in technology and financial services across the U.S., Europe, Asia, and Latin America. He currently serves on the board of Robinhood Markets, Inc., as well as several private companies.

Earlier in his career, Malka co-founded Heptagon Group, a securities and investment broker-dealer serving Venezuelan and U.S. markets. He also developed Patagon.com, an internet-based financial services portal acquired by Banco Santander in 2000. He co-founded Banco Lemon, a Brazilian retail bank acquired by Banco do Brasil in 2009, and later co-founded Bling Nation, a mobile payments company that evolved into Lemon Inc., a mobile wallet company acquired in 2013.

Malka holds a degree in economics from the Universidad Católica Andrés Bello in Caracas, Venezuela.

Marc Rowan, board chair and chief executive officer of Apollo, said, "Micky has spent his career building companies at the intersection of technology and financial services, and his background will be a real asset as we continue to drive growth across our platform."

As of June 30, 2026, Apollo reported approximately $1.05 trillion in assets under management.
