Vonage, a subsidiary of Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC), announced a collaboration with Amazon Web Services to integrate Amazon Nova Sonic speech-to-speech technology with the Vonage Voice API. The integration enables businesses to deploy AI voice agents across telephony, WebRTC, and mobile applications.

The partnership combines Vonage's communications infrastructure with Amazon Nova Sonic's conversational AI capabilities. The technology allows real-time voice adaptation, adjusting tone and prosody for natural responses, according to the companies.

The integration will be demonstrated at AWS Summit New York City on July 16, 2025. Fabio Cerone, Managing Director of Telecommunications at AWS, said the collaboration makes it easier for organizations to deploy intelligent voice agents at scale and enhance customer engagement.

Christophe Van de Weyer, President and Head of Business Unit API at Vonage, stated that the technology enables businesses to streamline the adoption of intelligent agents and modernize legacy voice systems.

The solution targets several use cases including customer support automation, proactive outbound engagement, and multilingual communication. The technology can be deployed across industries from small businesses to large enterprises.

Amazon Nova Sonic provides language detection capabilities while supporting multilingual synthesis. The integration aims to reduce the complexity of building conversational AI platforms by eliminating the need to manage backend processes such as audio buffering and latency management.

Vonage operates as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Ericsson and provides cloud communications services including unified communications, contact center solutions, and communications platform services. The company is part of Ericsson's Business Area Global Communications Platform division.
