Vertiv (NYSE: VRT) announced the release of gigawatt-scale reference architectures for the NVIDIA Omniverse DSX Blueprint, designed to support generative AI infrastructure including NVIDIA Vera Rubin platforms. The announcement coincides with NVIDIA unveiling its AI factory Research Center in Virginia and the NVIDIA Omniverse DSX Blueprint for multi-generation AI infrastructure.
The reference architectures offer multiple deployment options including traditional construction, hybrid models, and fully prefabricated solutions. The prefabricated version utilizes Vertiv's OneCore platform, which integrates compute, power, cooling, and services as a single system. According to the company, this approach can compress delivery schedules by up to 50% compared to traditional construction methods.
Key features of the architecture include optimized power topologies with Vertiv's "Grid-to-Chip" power train, advanced liquid cooling systems for thermal management, and deployment flexibility across different construction methodologies. The company states the system can reduce Time to First Token by up to 50% compared to traditional builds.
"The AI industrial revolution requires a complete reinvention of data center infrastructure," said Scott Armul, executive vice president global portfolio and business units at Vertiv. "The Vertiv reference architecture for NVIDIA Omniverse DSX is more than just a blueprint; it's a holistic approach that accelerates the deployment of AI at a scale previously unimaginable."
Dion Harris, senior director of HPC, Cloud, and Infrastructure Solutions at NVIDIA, stated that NVIDIA and Vertiv are collaborating to develop reference architectures that provide the power and cooling foundation needed for gigawatt-class AI factories.
Vertiv operates in more than 130 countries and maintains a service organization of over 4,000 field engineers. The company is currently engaged in design phases of several large AI factory projects utilizing the OneCore prefabricated design at gigawatt scale.
