VERAXA Biotech advances VXA-222 bispecific ADC program with OmniAb

VERAXA Biotech AG (NASDAQ: VRXA) announced the advancement of its bispecific antibody drug conjugate program VXA-222 following the achievement of a key technical milestone in its collaboration with OmniAb, Inc. (NASDAQ: OABI).

The program moves into its next phase with OmniAb's discovery work concluded. VXA-222 uses an "AND-gate" mechanism designed to address two different target antigens present on solid tumors within a single molecule.

The collaboration, established in May 2025, combined OmniAb's transgenic antibody discovery solutions and screening technologies with VERAXA's proprietary ADC linker technology and conjugation expertise. OmniAb's OmniClic platform, a common light-chain transgenic chicken system, was used to generate bispecific antibody leads optimized through in vivo affinity maturation.

VERAXA will now apply its proprietary linker technology and conjugation process to establish a lead candidate and will be responsible for in vitro and in vivo validation. Under the terms of the agreement, VERAXA holds exclusive rights to develop and commercialize products incorporating the OmniAb-derived antibodies, with OmniAb entitled to a share of specified revenue generated from those products.
