Stardust Power Inc. (NASDAQ: SDST) announced it has executed a letter of intent with Prairie Lithium for the supply of 6,000 metric tons per year of lithium carbonate equivalent in the form of lithium chloride. The lithium chloride will be sourced from the Prairie Lithium Project in Saskatchewan, Canada, and used as feedstock at Stardust Power's lithium processing facility in Muskogee, Oklahoma.
The non-binding agreement includes an initial six-year term with two additional six-year extension options at Stardust Power's discretion, potentially providing up to 18 years of feedstock supply. Initial deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2027, with volumes scaling up to the full 6,000 metric tons annually.
Prairie Lithium's Preliminary Economic Statement identifies production capacity of up to 17,000 metric tons per year. The feedstock will be delivered to the Port of Muskogee's Free Trade Zone, which provides access to water, road, and rail networks along with potential tariff exemptions and reduced import duties.
"Securing reliable, high-quality feedstock is critical to scaling our lithium refining operations," said Pablo Cortegoso, Chief Technical Officer and Co-Founder of Stardust Power.
The Prairie Project is located in the Williston Basin of southeast Saskatchewan, spanning approximately 350,000 acres of mineral rights. The region has established infrastructure including electricity, fresh water, highways, and railroads.
Stardust Power is building a lithium refinery in Muskogee, Oklahoma, with capacity to produce up to 50,000 metric tons of battery-grade lithium carbonate annually. The company has begun construction at the Muskogee site and has advanced-stage permitting in progress.
