Solmate names Bitcoin Depot veteran Scott Buchanan as CFO
Solmate Infrastructure PLC (NASDAQ: SLMT) announced the appointment of Scott Buchanan as Chief Financial Officer, effective October 1, 2026, according to a company press release.
Buchanan previously held multiple senior roles at Bitcoin Depot (NASDAQ: BTM) from 2019, including CFO, COO, President, and ultimately CEO. During his time there, he helped grow company revenue from approximately $5 million to $175 million, expand headcount from 10 to 190 employees, and complete a Nasdaq listing through an approximately $400 million SPAC merger. He also sourced more than $200 million in growth capital and more than $50 million in acquisitions. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Finance at Bitcoin Standard Treasury Company. He is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Master of Science in Accountancy from Wake Forest University, with early career experience in assurance at KPMG.
In his new role, Buchanan will oversee financial reporting, capital markets, and treasury management at Solmate.
"Scott has done what we need a CFO to do: scale a digital asset business, raise capital, and lead it as a Nasdaq-listed company," said Ron Sade, CEO of Solmate.
Solmate's SOL holdings were valued at approximately $149.6 million as of September 29, 2026, up from approximately $88 million on July 31, 2026, representing an increase of approximately 70%. The company held approximately 1.26 million SOL. These figures are unaudited point-in-time estimates based on market prices and may differ from amounts reported in the company's IFRS financial statements. The company stated it had not sold any SOL.
