Smith+Nephew (NYSE: SNN) announced a distribution agreement with SI-BONE (NASDAQ: SIBN) to distribute the iFuse TORQ portfolio for pelvic fracture fixation procedures.
The partnership provides Smith+Nephew access to SI-BONE's iFuse TORQ TNT and iFuse TORQ implants, which are designed for pelvic fracture fixation and sacroiliac joint fusion. The iFuse TORQ TNT received FDA Breakthrough Device Designation and qualifies for Medicare New Technology Add-on Payment of up to $4,136 per procedure.
"We're incredibly excited to partner with SI-BONE," said Scott Gunn, Vice President Trauma, Extremities and Shoulder at Smith+Nephew. "This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to innovation, clinical excellence, and improving patient outcomes."
The iFuse TORQ TNT addresses anatomical and bone density requirements of the sacrum and ilium. The FDA recognized the device for its potential to provide more effective treatment of pelvic fractures compared to traditional cannulated screws.
Smith+Nephew will distribute the products alongside SI-BONE's existing sales channel. The medical technology company operates in more than 100 countries and generated annual sales of $5.8 billion in 2024.
SI-BONE has supported physicians in performing over 140,000 procedures since 2009. The company's clinical evidence includes four randomized controlled trials and over 180 peer-reviewed publications, according to the press release.
