Skydance Media announced its slate of 10 director designees for the board of Paramount Skydance Corporation, the entity that will result from its proposed merger with Paramount Global (NASDAQ: PARA, PARAA).
David Ellison will serve as chairman and chief executive officer of the combined company. The board will include three independent directors and comprises executives from media, technology and finance sectors.
The director designees include Barbara Byrne, former vice chairman of Barclays PLC; Gerry Cardinale, founder and managing partner of RedBird Capital Partners; Safra Catz, CEO of Oracle Corporation; Andy Gordon, future chief strategy officer and chief operating officer of Paramount; Justin Hamill, managing director and chief legal officer of Silver Lake; Sherry Lansing, former chairman and CEO of Paramount Pictures; Paul Marinelli, president of Lawrence Investments; Jeff Shell, future president of Paramount; and John Thornton, chairman of RedBird Capital Partners.
The directors will begin serving upon the closing of the merger with Paramount Global. Current Paramount Global directors will step down when the transaction closes.
"We are thrilled and honored to welcome this truly outstanding group of director-designees to our Board," Ellison said in a statement.
The company stated that the majority of the board comprises the largest shareholders of the company. The announcement comes as Skydance Media works toward completing its acquisition of Paramount Global.
