Serve Robotics Inc. (NASDAQ: SERV) announced the launch of autonomous delivery services in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, expanding its operations beyond Miami in the South Florida market. The company's AI-powered sidewalk robots will deliver restaurant orders through Uber Eats (NYSE: UBER) in Downtown and Las Olas Boulevard neighborhoods.
The Fort Lauderdale expansion is part of Serve Robotics' broader strategy to deploy 2,000 delivery robots across the United States by year end through its partnership with Uber Eats. The company currently operates in Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami, Dallas-Fort Worth, and Atlanta.
"South Florida has proven to be an incredible market for autonomous delivery," said Dr. Ali Kashani, Co-Founder and CEO of Serve Robotics. "Building on our success in Miami, the expansion to Fort Lauderdale allows us to serve more communities, support more restaurant partners, and continue scaling our low-emissions delivery network across the region."
Aaron Emrich, Global Head of Autonomous Delivery at Uber Eats, stated the company is "excited to expand autonomous delivery operations in South Florida with Serve," citing Fort Lauderdale's restaurant scene and tech-forward community as factors making it suitable for the service.
Serve Robotics was spun off from Uber in 2021 as an independent company and has completed over 100,000 deliveries for partners including Uber Eats and 7-Eleven. The company has multi-year contracts including an agreement to deploy up to 2,000 delivery robots across multiple U.S. markets.
The information is based on a company press release.
