Serco Inc. has been awarded a $97 million indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract to support the U.S. Navy's Submarine High Data Rate antenna systems, the company announced.

The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport awarded the single-award contract, which extends Serco's involvement in the program for another decade. The contract includes a five-year base period and five option years.

Under the agreement, Serco will provide depot-level repair, maintenance, and upgrade services for the SubHDR antenna systems. These systems enable U.S. submarines to send and receive secure wide-band communications, voice and data traffic, imagery and video teleconferencing.

Work will be performed primarily at Serco's facility in Ludlow, Massachusetts, with additional support provided at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center in Newport, Rhode Island. The company will maintain its indoor near field and compact antenna test range at the Ludlow location.

"We are proud to continue our 20-year partnership with the U.S. Navy on this vital program," said Tom Watson, CEO of Serco Inc. "This award is a direct reflection of the exceptional skill and dedication of our team."

The contract represents a re-compete of a program Serco has supported for more than two decades. Serco Inc., headquartered in Herndon, Virginia, employs approximately 10,000 people and reports annual revenue of $2 billion. The company operates as a wholly owned subsidiary of Serco Group plc.
