SHARC Energy launches BFO system with Calgary wastewater plant order
SHARC International Systems Inc. (CSE: SHRC) (OTCQB: INTWF) (FSE: IWIA) announced it secured a purchase order for its Back-Flush Only system from a wastewater treatment plant in Calgary, Alberta, marking the commercial launch of the new product.
The BFO system represents a passive thermal energy transfer solution designed for applications with minimal or no solids in source effluent and where medium to high-temperature effluent is available. Unlike SHARC's existing filtration systems for raw wastewater, the BFO system targets cleaner effluent streams and does not require solids separation or maceration.
The system is engineered for non-solids effluent streams, grey water, wastewater treatment plant discharge, data centers, hydronic HVAC systems, and district heating and cooling ambient temperature loops.
"This purchase order represents more than a project win — it represents the successful launch of a new product category within our portfolio," said Michael Albertson, CEO and President of SHARC Energy.
SHARC Energy reported its sales order backlog increased to $7.8 million as of the release date, without considering shipments or adjustments since the third quarter of 2025.
The BFO system complements SHARC Energy's existing product portfolio, which includes the PIRANHA wastewater-source heat pump and the SHARC scalable passive thermal energy transfer systems for higher-solids wastewater applications.
SHARC International Systems develops wastewater energy transfer technology for heating, cooling and hot water production in commercial, residential and industrial buildings. The company trades on the Canadian Securities Exchange, OTCQB market and Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
