Ryder System appoints Tammy Romo to board of directors

Ryder System, Inc. (NYSE: R) appointed Tammy Romo, 63, to its board of directors effective January 5, 2026, according to a company statement. Romo will serve on the Audit and Finance Committees.
Romo retired as executive vice president and chief financial officer of Southwest Airlines on April 1, 2025, after overseeing corporate financial functions for more than a decade during her 30-year tenure at the airline. She currently serves as an independent director of Tenet Healthcare Corporation (NYSE: THC) since 2015.
"The board nominated Tammy as a director for her impressive results-oriented leadership style, proven ability to provide strategic oversight in complex public company settings, and her deep transportation expertise," said Ryder Chairman and CEO Robert Sanchez.
Miami-based Ryder System provides logistics and transportation services including supply chain management, fleet leasing, and maintenance solutions across the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
