Regency Centers adds Equity Residential CEO to board

Regency Centers Corporation (NASDAQ: REG) announced the election of Mark J. Parrell to its board of directors, effective January 1, 2026. The appointment expands the board to twelve directors.



Parrell serves as president, chief executive officer, and board member of Equity Residential (NYSE: EQR), positions he has held since January 2019. He previously worked as executive vice president and chief financial officer at Equity Residential from 2007 to 2018 and has held senior finance roles at the company since 1999.



The appointment adds an independent director with experience leading a residential real estate investment trust. Parrell has served on boards of T. Rowe Price Funds, Brookdale Senior Living Inc. and Aviv REIT, Inc.



"His proven leadership and extensive experience in the real estate business, including as both CEO and CFO of a sector-leading S&P 500 commercial residential real estate company, will be invaluable as we continue to execute our strategy and create long-term value for our shareholders," said Martin E. Stein Jr., executive chair of Regency Centers.



Parrell holds a business administration degree from the University of Michigan and a law degree from Georgetown University Law Center. He participates in industry groups including the Real Estate Roundtable and Nareit.



Regency Centers operates as a real estate investment trust that owns, operates and develops shopping centers. The company is an S&P 500 Index member.
