PowerSecure, a subsidiary of Southern Company (NYSE: SO), has entered into an agreement with Keel Infrastructure (Nasdaq: KEEL) to provide a standby power solution for Keel's data center campus in Moses Lake, Washington, according to a press release dated Sept. 9, 2026.
Under the agreement, PowerSecure will design and deliver a customized backup resiliency solution built around its PowerBlocks® platform — modular systems that combine onsite generation, controls and electrical infrastructure. The solution is designed to scale as the Moses Lake campus expands and will also support peak shaving to help manage energy use during periods of high system load.
"This project underscores PowerSecure's ability to deliver flexible, resilient energy solutions with speed and precision," said Jim Smith, president of PowerSecure.
Alex Brammer, Executive Vice President of Operations at Keel Infrastructure, said the solution addresses operational continuity requirements while limiting grid and environmental impact. "Reliable power is the foundation of everything we build at Keel Infrastructure, and this solution gives our Moses Lake campus the resiliency and operational continuity our customers depend on," Brammer said.
The two companies established the partnership earlier in 2026. PowerSecure deployed an integrated engineering and project delivery team to design and implement the solution.
Keel Infrastructure is a digital infrastructure and energy company that develops and owns data centers for high-performance computing, including AI workloads. The company reports a pipeline of 2.2 gigawatts with established grid interconnections across Pennsylvania, Washington and Québec, Canada.
