Pearson names Sky CFO Simon Robson as new finance chief

Pearson (FTSE: PSON.L) appointed Simon Robson as Group Chief Financial Officer, succeeding Sally Johnson who will leave to become CFO at a privately owned business, according to a company statement.



Robson will join Pearson on March 30, 2026, and assume the CFO role on May 8, 2026, following a transition period with Johnson. He currently serves as Group CFO at Sky, where he has worked since 1997 in various senior finance and strategy positions.



At Sky, Robson held roles including CFO of Sky Deutschland from 2015 to 2018, Deputy Group CFO, and Group CFO since June 2020. He holds a degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Sheffield and is a chartered certified accountant.



Johnson has worked at Pearson for nearly 26 years, including six years as Group CFO. During her tenure, she contributed to strengthening the company's financial performance and advancing business transformation initiatives.

Pearson stated it enters 2026 with momentum and confidence in delivering mid-single digit underlying sales growth in 2026. The education company serves customers in nearly 200 countries with digital content, assessments, qualifications, and data, employing approximately 18,000 people.
