Pathos AI strikes deals with Bristol Myers Squibb and Tempus AI

Pathos AI has announced multi-year collaborations with Bristol Myers Squibb (NYSE: BMY) and Tempus AI (NASDAQ: TEM) focused on building AI-driven capabilities for Alzheimer's disease and other neurological conditions, according to a company press release.

Under a five-year, $55 million agreement, Tempus will construct a de-identified, longitudinal dataset drawn from hundreds of thousands of patients with neurological conditions. Pathos AI will license this dataset and apply its agentic AI platform, Pathos Foundry, to analyze disease biology and inform clinical trial design.

Bristol Myers Squibb is leading Pathos AI's Series E financing round, the terms of which were not disclosed. As part of the arrangement, BMS gains non-exclusive access to Pathos Foundry across its broader research and development portfolio, along with three-year exclusive rights to use the platform in support of its neuroscience programs.

Pathos AI said its Foundry platform was originally developed and validated in oncology, where it is used to guide portfolio decisions and adapt clinical trial design. The company's existing pipeline includes programs in prostate cancer, multiple myeloma, lung cancer, breast cancer, and other solid tumors.

"Neurological diseases demand more than any one company can bring on its own: the best longitudinal data, AI that can reason over it at scale, and the drug development expertise to turn insight into medicines," said Iker Huerga, CEO of Pathos AI.

Simon Davies, SVP and Head of Data and Quantitative Sciences at Bristol Myers Squibb, said the investment reflects the company's commitment to applying AI and data science across its research and development operations.

Eric Lefkofsky, Founder and CEO of Tempus, said the collaboration combines BMS's scientific expertise, Pathos's AI platform, and Tempus's data infrastructure to pursue treatments for Alzheimer's patients.

Pathos AI is headquartered in New York City.
