Novelis names Emilio Braghi as chief operating officer

Novelis Inc. announced that Emilio Braghi has been appointed chief operating officer, effective immediately. Braghi, a 25-year company veteran who joined in 1999, will report directly to President and CEO Steve Fisher.

In his new role, Braghi will be responsible for enhancing operational performance and driving improvements in safety, quality, and reliability standards across the company's global operations. He will continue to serve as President of Novelis Europe and remain based in Küsnacht, Switzerland.

"Emilio's deep operational expertise and global leadership experience make him uniquely qualified to drive performance improvements across our business," Fisher said in a statement.

Braghi began his career at Novelis as sales manager for Europe and has held leadership positions across Europe, North America and Asia. He advanced through general management roles, including leading the company's business in Italy. In 2012, he joined the Asia leadership team as vice president of operations before later serving as vice president of operations for North America. He was named President of Novelis Europe in 2016.

Novelis is a subsidiary of Hindalco Industries Limited and reported net sales of $17.1 billion in fiscal year 2025. The company describes itself as a global leader in aluminum products and the world's largest aluminum recycler, serving customers in aerospace, automotive, beverage can and specialty industries.
