Nextpower (NASDAQ: NXT) opened a Southeast operations hub in Nashville and expanded its steel fabrication capacity in Tennessee through a partnership with MSS Steel Tubes USA, according to a company statement.

The solar tracker manufacturer added a new fabrication line at MSS Steel Tubes' Memphis facility, doubling its manufacturing capacity with the partner. The existing fabrication line supports 120 jobs, with employment expected to reach 150 as the new line becomes operational.

The Nashville facility includes a Remote Monitoring Center that connects engineers to Nextpower solar tracker projects globally. The company will manufacture solar tracker systems for utility-scale power plants across Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia.

According to the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy, the Southeast added 5 gigawatts of solar capacity in 2024, bringing total regional capacity to nearly 28 gigawatts. The region is projected to reach 54 gigawatts by 2030.

MSS Steel Tubes USA operates as a subsidiary of Portugal-based Metalogalva Group. The company opened its first U.S. production facility in Memphis in 2023 and has partnered with Nextpower since 2015.

Silicon Ranch Corporation, a Tennessee-based independent power producer, represents a major customer for the expanded capacity. The company has installed more than 4 gigawatts of solar energy capacity and plans to double that figure over the next three years.

Nextpower will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony at its Nashville office featuring local officials and industry representatives.
