Navitas Semiconductor (NASDAQ: NVTS) announced an expansion of its distribution agreement with Avnet (NASDAQ: AVT), making Avnet a globally franchised strategic distribution partner for the semiconductor company.
The expanded partnership builds on Navitas' existing relationship with Avnet Silica in Europe and represents part of the company's consolidation of franchised distribution partners. Under the agreement, Avnet will provide technical and commercial support for Navitas' gallium nitride (GaN) and silicon carbide (SiC) semiconductor devices.
The partnership targets markets including AI data centers, high-performance computing, renewable energy, grid infrastructure, and industrial electrification. Avnet will offer support for Navitas' high-voltage and high-power wide bandgap semiconductor devices across these sectors.
"This builds considerably on the successful role that Avnet Silica has played in reaching and developing our strategically important European customers," said Alessandro Squeri, Vice President Global distribution, Operations & Transformation at Navitas. "As we consolidate our distribution network to align with high-power market focus, expanding Avnet's franchise globally was a natural next step."
Alex Iuorio, Senior Vice President, Global Supplier Development at Avnet, said the expanded partnership reflects the strength of teams supporting customers in high-power markets. "Navitas' leadership in wide bandgap innovation aligns strongly with Avnet's commitment to enabling advanced, energy-efficient solutions for our customers," Iuorio stated.
The arrangement provides customers with access to both regional specialists like Avnet Silica in Europe and global distribution through Avnet across all geographies, according to the company's press release.
Navitas specializes in gallium nitride and silicon carbide semiconductor technology and holds over 300 patents issued or pending in wide bandgap technologies.
