Montrose Environmental appoints James Laws as chief operating officer

Montrose Environmental Group Inc. (NYSE: MEG) appointed James Laws as chief operating officer, the company announced. Laws will oversee all business line operations and report directly to Chief Executive Officer Vijay Manthripragada.
Laws brings 25 years of experience in the environmental industry. He spent nearly a decade at AECOM (NYSE: AECOM), most recently serving as senior vice president with responsibility for environmental remediation, air quality, environmental health and safety, permitting and planning, and federal programs. As head of environmental operations for the west region, he managed disciplined execution and scalable performance.
Prior to AECOM, Laws worked 16 years at CH2M HILL, now Jacobs Solutions Inc. (NYSE: J), leading federal and commercial environmental programs, including Environmental Protection Agency and Department of Defense contracts. He holds a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from the University of Southern California.
