Mobileye Global Inc. (NASDAQ: MBLY) announced that a major US-based automaker selected its EyeQ6H chip to power advanced driver assistance systems across millions of vehicles worldwide. The deal includes hands-free driving capabilities on select highways.
The contract brings Mobileye's estimated future delivery of EyeQ6H-based Surround ADAS systems to more than 19 million units. This includes 9 million from the newly announced automaker and existing programs with Volkswagen Group announced in March 2025.
The unnamed automaker will offer Surround ADAS as standard equipment across mainstream and premium models. The system uses the EyeQ6H chip to process data from up to 11 sensors, including cameras and radars, enabling functions such as automated lane changes and highway traffic jam assistance at speeds up to 81 mph.
"This selection of Mobileye Surround ADAS by one of the world's great automakers reflects the power of our approach to democratizing safety and technology," said Mobileye President and CEO Amnon Shashua.
The Surround ADAS system integrates multiple driving functions on a single chip and electronic control unit, which the company says reduces costs compared to first-generation hands-free systems. The technology leverages REM crowdsourced data covering highway and arterial roads in the United States and Europe, plus more than 90 percent of roads in key Asian markets.
Mobileye expects regulators to increase performance requirements for ADAS systems globally, with customer demand for hands-free driving rising in developed markets. The company projects Surround ADAS-type systems will become standard equipment on many European and US models.
Intel Corp. (NASDAQ: INTC) retains majority ownership of Mobileye, which has been listed independently since 2022.
